Celebrating Children: Two More Conversations With Kids That Are Both Funny and Poignant
I love talking to kids. They have such a unique and refreshing perspective on the world. They're not afraid to ask the tough questions, and they always have a way of making me smile.

Recently, I had two more conversations with kids that were both funny and poignant. I thought I'd share them with you today.
Conversation #1
I was talking to my 8-year-old daughter about school. She was telling me about all the things she was learning, and how much she loved her teacher.
"What's your favorite thing about school?" I asked her.
"I like learning about new things," she said. "And I like making new friends."
"What's your favorite subject?" I asked.
"I like science," she said. "We're learning about the solar system right now, and it's so cool."
"What do you want to be when you grow up?" I asked.
"I want to be a scientist," she said. "I want to discover new things and help people."
I was so impressed by her answer. She's such a smart and ambitious young girl. I know she's going to do great things in life.
Conversation #2
I was talking to my 9-year-old son about his friends. He was telling me about a new friend he had made at school.
"What do you like about him?" I asked.
"He's really funny," my son said. "He always makes me laugh."
"What's his name?" I asked.
"His name is Billy," my son said. "He's in my class."
"I'd like to meet him sometime," I said.
"I'll introduce you to him," my son said.
A few days later, I met Billy. He was just as funny as my son had said. He was also very kind and polite.
"I'm so glad you introduced me to Billy," I told my son. "He's a great kid."
"I know," my son said. "He's my best friend."
I'm so grateful for the opportunity to talk to kids. They have such a unique and refreshing perspective on the world. They're not afraid to ask the tough questions, and they always have a way of making me smile.
